© Footprints in the Sand by Rose Marian Finn x - April 2019 In my life I have seen People come and go And I’ve heard The songs of young and old And one day when there’s no more songs to sing I’ll see footprints in the sand. Chorus Washed away with the tide Washed away from my side Gone forever oooohhhh ohhhh Only voices that sing Songs and whisperings Float by, on the Wind. I’ve had dreams, I’ve had yearnings of my own And I’ve heard calls I didn’t want know I closed my eyes And they too disappeared Just like footprints in the sand Chorus x 1 I give thanks For the joys my life has found And the love That follows me around And one day When it all comes to an end You will know I was your friend Final chorus Now Washed away with the tide Washed away from your side Gone for ever ——-ooooh Still our voices will sing Songs and whisperings Still Float by on the wind.

WILLY GILLESPIE © Rose Marian Finn She was barely 18 and a long way from home On the day he walked into her world Oh the time it stood still no one spoke for a while Til their eyes met and both of them started to smile He was tall, he was fair he was handsome and proud And his voice it was pure Irish Gold Her heart it was lost from the moment he spoke And his name it was Willy Gillespie Love was theirs, Summer Long Dancing, walking, laughing out loud Sharing Dreams, making plans holding them all in the palm of their hands Fighting too, made her cry then they hugged and swore they would love till they die. She was barely 19... and so too was he When the time came that she must him leave To serve Queen and Country over the sea And be parted from Willy Gillespie He was tall, he was fair he was handsome and proud And his voice it was pure Irish Gold Her heart it was lost from the moment he spoke And his name it was Willy Gillespie Love was theirs, Summer Long Dancing, walking, laughing out loud Sharing Dreams, making plans holding them all in the palm of their hands Fighting too, made her cry then they hugged and swore they would love till they die. Love was theirs, now long gone but the beautiful memories still linger on Love of Youth, Real and true both of them wearing the colours of blue Sad farewells, both did cry Still they hugged and swore they would love till they die.
